I am new to the whole Sharepoint world, we are just setting up a pilot WSS 3.0 implementation to use for Document Collaboration. I am trying to install a trial version of the batch check in software but at the first step it says that the Windows SharePoint Services Timer Service is NOT Started! however when I check the service it is running fine. I tried stopping and restarting the service under the current logged in user but to no avail. We are running Windows 2008 64bit Standard edition SP2, and I get the error on both our singer server install and our production install of a WSS server and a SQL server.
Is this a problem others have encountered?
